TFG Section: Understanding the product

Welcome to the Tech For Growth project. This project contains 4 sections. In this first section, we're going to understand the product and the users in depth.

1. Define and understand your product.

2. Perform a complete technical breakdown.

3. Understanding capabilities to build.

4. Detail out key trade-offs and nuances.

Understand the product

Before we get into the technical details, it's important to understand what are you building and for who are you building?

You can think about the following questions to understand the product:

  • What is the core value prop for your product?
  • What problem is your problem solving?
  • What is the user journey for your product?
  • Who are the primary users?

Understand the users

Next, we need to deeply understand who is going to use the product. You can think about the following questions to understand the users:

  • Who are your ICPs? (Demographics, behavior, and pain points)
  • What are their primary Jobs-To-Be-Done (JTBD)?
  • How does your product uniquely serve them?

Please note: This is not an exhaustive list. You can add more questions if they help you understand the users and the product better.
